Trump Acknowledges Jerusalem as Israel's Capital

This week President Donald Trump announced his intention to formally recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and work towards moving the embassy there from Tel Aviv. The news has been met in Israel with a mixture of excitement and anticipation, since no other country recognizes Israel's control over the city.

While our Thrive students can attest that Jerusalem is indeed firmly under Israeli sovereignty and that there are no physical barriers separating the western and eastern halves of the city, political leaders around the world have warned that they will withhold recognition until Israel and the Palestinian Authority arrive at a joint final status agreement.
