Hebrew University, with a total enrollment of approximately 22,000 full time students at of which 1,850 are studying in the Rothberg International school (RIS), why has RIS decided to join with a new entity Jewish Year Abroad to form “Thrive at Hebrew U.”?

Shimon Lipsky, the vice Provost of the Rothberg Inernational school, expressed that “the vision of the Hebrew University was to develop a multicultural institution which can truly be a light unto the nations. With Thrive, we will provide an excellent academic option for a segment of students pursuing ancient Jewish knowledge.”

Jonathan Kaplan, the Director of Undergraduate studies, is very excited for the launch of Thrive. “The Rothberg International School has many years of experience in helping students develop an understanding for the middle-east. To now combine the Hebrew University structure with the Thrive resources and their profound academic and experiential approach to Judaism, will create a perfect synthesis for students also interested in a Jewish pursuit.”

“The Hebrew University has been on a continuous rise in international prestige. Every year we have moved up in the rankings and we are currently ranked 53rd worldwide” said Mr. Kaplan. “We have invested a lot into brain science and we have qualified for more competitive research grants than any other institution in Europe” lauded Mr. Lipsky.

Along with “Dance Jerusalem,” “Arabic Immersion Program” and “Spring in Jerusalem”, a program in conjunction with Harvard, Thrive at Hebrew university is one of the numerous programs offered at the Rothberg International school. Nevertheless, Mr. Kaplan and Mr. Lipsky are elated to attract bright students with passion to delve further into the academia of their rich, Jewish heritage through Thrive.
